SAG Awards 2012 Red Carpet The Best And Worst Dressed: The Screen Actors Guild Awards were a pretty average (read: dull) affair, with no host to make everyone uneasy, no uncomfortable acceptance speeches (except those “Modern Family” kids) and no Michael Fassbender for George Clooney to make PG-13 rated jokes about.

Golden Globe Winners 2012: George Clooney was the big winner at Sunday night’s Golden Globes. He won best actor, motion picture drama, for his role as a man dealing with his wife’s coma in “The Descendants,” which was also named best drama of the year. “The Artist,” the throwback black and white silent film, nabbed the best musical or comedy award.

Of course, the Globes are tantamount to a T-Ball tournament where everyone wins a trophy. There is such a barrage of categories, that most movies and TV shows seem to walk away with something.

The 69th rendition from Beverly Hills, Ca., on NBC and hosted by Ricky Gervais, was pretty standard as wheezy, long-winded awards fests go. But there were some high points. The supremely graceful Sidney Poitier received a standing ovation as he paid tribute to Morgan “The Voice of God” Freeman, recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille award for career achievement. People’s Choice Awards For The Fans: The fans have voted, and in the millions: Stars of TV, film and music picked up their trophies Wednesday night at the 38th annual People’s Choice Awards.

Backstage, Emma Stone, winner of the favorite-movie-actress award, had tongue firmly in cheek when asked how she felt: “It sucked,” she joked to reporters. “This is so crappy. No, it’s so nice.” The star of The Help, wearing a green Gucci jacket and dark trousers, choked up onstage during her acceptance speech. But she recovered enough later to tell reporters her style icon. “Diane Keaton, for sure,” she said.

In fact, many stars say the People’s Choice Awards are their favorite of the awards season, which is just getting underway. Hosted by Kaley Cuoco of CBS’ The Big Bang Theory at the Nokia Theatre, the awards were handed out after a record-breaking 230-million-plus online votes at the website and via Facebook and Twitter.
